“Do you guys have Pilates?”

We hear this question occasionally at Creative Therapeutics, and it makes sense: the principles of Pilates are right in line with our practice, as well as the types of classes and workshops we’ve offered–everything from yoga to Pelvicore to Feldenkrais share Pilates’ attention to the core, breathing, and exploring the crucial connection of the mind to the body.

It’s been several years since we’ve offered a Pilates course, so when the opportunity came up, we thought we’d give it a try and see if people are interested! So we want to offer an introductory class on a couple convenient dates that hopefully work with people’s schedules.

Join us Thursday, August 9 from 5:30-7:00 PM, and/or Saturday, August 11 from 10:30 AM-12:00 PM for an introductory class. if we have enough interest for these intro sessions, we can start to incorporate Pilates into our regular schedule! Barbara Baie is a certified Pilates instructor. She has been active as a participant in Pilates for more than 15 years, and in teaching and coaching for the past 5+ years. She began–and believes in–“Pilates for Life!” You’ll hear her say “Movement is medicine” as she offers something for everyone for everyday health and wellness.

“I became enthusiastic about Pilates when I was first introduced to it through a local gym more than 15 years ago,” says Barbara. “The instructor was kind, helpful, and non-judgemental for this beginner–I was hooked! Although I considered myself ‘physically fit,’ Pilates challenged me. With its many exercises, I was never bored. I quickly realized the benefits of this workout, which I could do in class, or on my own at home. I am convinced everyone can benefit from Pilates, no matter where we are along our fitness journey. Most of the exercises offer both a beginner and advanced level, and I will demonstrate both for workshop participants.
