Yoga Classes

Beginning Yoga

Do you think yoga looks difficult? Do you see people in complicated poses with exotic-sounding names and think “Well, that’s just not for me?”

This class can change your mind.

The word “yoga” simply means “to connect:” connect breath to movement, connect mind to body. It is a gentle system of stretching and strengthening you can do at any age, and its benefits are wide-ranging. If you are concerned about balancing, bending over, being on the floor, etc.–just let the instructor know. This class can be as easy or as challenging as you like: it’s up to you!

Yoga--All Levels

At Creative Therapeutics, we believe in the power of yoga to transform your mind and body. Yoga is for everyone! It’s something you can do all your life, virtually anywhere, and for any length of time. Whether you look at it as stretching, a workout, a way to relax, or a way to seek harmony, yoga offers a myriad of benefits. Students report greater strength and flexibility, lower blood pressure, improved balance, and enhanced peace of mind.

Our instructors have experience in many styles and types of yoga. Hatha, Iyengar, Vinyasa, and restorative yoga may all be explored. Dedicated to their practice and passionate about teaching, our instructors are willing to gauge classes according to what students want and need. Whether you are just starting yoga or have been practicing for years, you’ll find class a satisfying experience. And if you have special concerns or goals, please let your instructor know. They know how to modify poses to accommodate you!

Prenatal Yoga

 Prenatal Yoga is appropriate for any stage of pregnancy.  No previous yoga experience is necessary. Prenatal yoga will help you build strength and balance, increase flexibility, relieve stress, and prepare you physically and mentally for labor and childbirth.  Prenatal yoga can relieve some pregnancy related symptoms while fostering serenity and a unifying sense of well-being. We have all the mats and props, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer.

iRest Yoga Nidra

Anyone can do Yoga Nidra–all you need to be able to do is lie down comfortably (or sit in a chair, if you prefer).

We provide mats, blankets, cushions, chairs. Classroom opens at 5:15 PM for those who wish to come stretch, move around, or relax and do some quiet reflection beforehand. We recommend taking advantage of this time to help get maximum benefit from your meditation.

iRest Yoga Nidra was developed by a clinical psychologist with a background in yoga in order to help people address traumas, injuries, and conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, addiction, insomnia, and more. However, even if you don’t suffer from such conditions, Yoga Nidra can be a powerful tool to help you overcome an obstacle or realize a goal.

The medical community is beginning to recognize quantifiable benefits to a practice of meditation. While meditation may often seem esoteric or mystical, in fact it is a simple (yet challenging) discipline that brings awareness to how the mind and body interact. It can teach us how thought patterns lock us into cycles of injury, bad habits or reactions, and be a powerful tool to help overcome and break through.

Pelvicore Training

Do you have one area of the body that you know needs work? Pelvicore core strength training probably targets it!

Pelvicore is an fun exercise class that brings awareness, strength, and stability to your core muscles and enhances your overall fitness level. This eight-week, 45 minute class makes use of a wonderful tool called a Pelvicore Ball (provided in class) specifically designed to tone your core muscles. Pelvicore is an aerobic workout that will get you to sweat while strengthening your abdominals, pelvic floor, inner and outer thighs, waist, and buttocks in a laid-back, supportive atmosphere.

Total Gym Gravity Strength and Conditioning

Total Gym Gravity is an incredible, versatile system that uses your body’s weight to varying degrees as resistance, providing you with a 30-minute, full body workout tailored to your specific fitness level. Your instructor provides individualized attention and the small group setting provides encouragement and camaraderie. These systems are also fun to use—ask our staff to try one out!
