Girls on the Run

Creative Therapeutics was a proud sponsor once again this year for the DeKalb County Girls on The Run race.  Girls on the Run is an international program, the mission of which is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and self-confident using a curriculum that teaches lessons and integrates running.  The 10-week season also includes a community project which is decided upon by the girls.  Ultimately, the season cultivates young runners and culminates with a celebratory 5K the girls run or walk with a running buddy.

This year Jamie Justice, PT, WCS, helped to start a team at her daughter’s school in DeKalb and was one of the coaches.  This was Jamie’s first experience with the program, and she could not have been more impressed.  Lessons that were taught included self-confidence, learning how to stop and breathe before reacting, having empathy, and many others.  These lessons are great for girls at these ages, 3rd through 5th grade.  Jamie looks forward to continuing the program and felt really proud that Creative Therapeutics was able to sponsor such a worthwhile program.
