Cazier Receives Dean’s Award at NIU

Cara Cazier

We’d like to take a moment to recognize our super awesome receptionist—Cara Cazier!

Cara was awarded the College of Health and Human Sciences 2018 Dean’s award for the Pre-Physical Therapy program at NIU. This prestigious award is given to someone who shows significant achievement and leadership in areas of scholarship, campus and community activities, and professional service.

Throughout her four years at NIU, Cara has been involved in volunteer work at Pine Acres and DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center and assisted with research in the areas of public health and exercise physiology. She also participates in a research group looking into the neurological effects of music in patients diagnosed with dementia. For the past two years, she has been an ambassador for incoming NIU students, representing the Pre-Physical Therapy program. Cara enjoyed spending her mornings and evenings as a group exercise instructor at NIU—leading Cycle and Yoga Fusion, HIIT Core, HIIT Cycle, Mobility and Mindfulness, and Total Body Bootcamp at The Rec Center on campus. And even with all that, she has subbed in our Total Gym Gravity classes and worked as our receptionist!

Cara will be graduating from NIU this May with a B.S. of Health and Human Sciences emphasizing in Pre-Physical Therapy and minor in Public Health.

Congratulations, Cara!
